This is the women's swimwear section of Surf Inc., and it holds 9 styles. Seven of them are one-piece swimsuits, and two are the Lombok Bikini top and bottom. The range is mostly one-piece, with the Lombok Bikini as the two-piece exception. Retro Swimsuit is the line named on 7 of the 9, which is why the shapes repeat rather than spread across a dozen silhouettes. Our women's surf swimwear is a short range built mostly around one-piece cuts, and the count above is the whole of it.

Style that makes waves – women's swimwear in modern cuts

Composition is printed on the product product page. Across the 9 styles, composition reads like this:

78 percent polyamide with 22 percent elastane,

Fabric weight is given as 210, so the material is close to identical from one swimsuit to the next. We are not going to tell you the fabric dries fast, resists chlorine or blocks sun, because none of that is written on the styles and we do not test for it. What the styles carry is the fibre split and the weight, and those are the two things you can plan around.

Designed to perform – women's swimwear that fits and lasts

Two construction details are recorded often enough to name. Embroidery appears on 8 of the 9, so the marking on most pieces is stitched rather than printed. A zip is listed on 7 of the 9, and that is the detail that gives the Retro Swimsuit its front-opening shape. The remaining two styles do not mention one.

Past that, the styles say nothing about linings, cup support, strap adjustment or where the seams fall, so we will not describe those either. A one-piece leaves the rest of the outfit to whatever goes over it. Pull women's shorts on over it for the walk back, or take a dress to go straight from the water into town. Lighter layers sit in women's tops, and hats and bags cover the rest of what ends up in the car.

Is the fabric chlorine resistant or quick drying?
We make no such claim. The styles record composition and a fabric weight of 210, and nothing about chlorine, salt water, drying time or sun protection.
