Nothing tightens and nothing ties under the chin, so it settles by itself. The corduroy versions are built on 96% cotton, with elastane making up the rest. A sherpa version comes in 100% polyester. Cord Kids Bucket comes in Pink Kush and White Sage, Soul Kids Bucket in Deep Purple, and each of those is corduroy, with embroidery. Sherpa Kids Bucket in Berry Ice Cream is the outlier: a pile surface over a lining, the one to reach for when it turns cold. Most of what you see here is therefore corduroy, most of it embroidered, and the exact composition is printed on every product card.

Worn, the brim runs all the way round, so the shade comes from every side rather than from the front alone. Corduroy catches light along the ribs, so Pink Kush, White Sage and Deep Purple all read as texture before colour. The embroidery sits on those corduroy versions. With no strap there is nothing to retie halfway through the day, and inside the sherpa version the lining is what a child feels on the forehead.
